Viva! advises consumers to stay clear of duck meat

Viva! has just learned that over 4,000 pounds of duck meat from Serenade Foods (also doing business as Maple Leaf Farms) has been voluntarily pulled because it might be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headaches, neck stiffness, nausea and can potentially be fatal, particularly for those with weak immune systems.
